24H Camions 2019: Truck drivers looking forward to Le Mans

One is a rising star in the French championship, the other a figure of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship: Téo Calvet and Steffi Halm are both looking forward to being at the Bugatti track for the exhilarating atmosphere and tough competition of the 24H Camions.

The weekend of 28–29 September 2019 is marked prominently in their diaries. Now only days away, the 24-hour truck racing event is also a round of both the French and European championships, which underlines its importance in the racing calendar.

To 18-year-old Téo Calvet (Lion Truck, MAN), who lies second in the French championship behind teammate Anthony Janiec, “the 24H Camions is the highlight of the year. Imagine being cheered on by 60,000 spectators! I don’t feel any pressure. On the contrary, it spurs me on. I love this race.” One of the rising stars of the discipline, Calvet is bent on making a name for himself in the four races to be run on the Bugatti over the weekend.

Just back from the last round of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship in Zolder, Stephanie “Steffi” Halm (35) of Team Schwabentruck is already looking forward to Le Mans. “I love this circuit. It has everything: slow corners, fast corners. It’s wide so you can have four abreast and overtaking is possible. It makes for a great show and the crowds go wild. I want to finish on the podium at Le Mans. I’ll go all out for it because I’m aiming for third place in the championship.” Winner of the Le Mans event in 2016, Halm is a serious contender. Watch out for the #44 IVECO. Five-time ETRC champion Jochen Hahn (IVECO) is currently top of the table but the season isn’t sewn up yet".

The 24H Camions is the penultimate round in both the French and European championships, meaning the outcome is all the more important! See you on 28–29 September!
